Joburg Mompreneur breakfast a great success

jhb-mompreneurs-breakfast

The Mommy Matters team headed to Johannesburg this past week to launch it’s first Momprneneur Breakfast. The successful networking events have been running monthly in Cape Town all of 2012 and the team finally headed the call by Joburg business moms to put an event on in their home town.
Located at the fabulous Grand Central Café in Melrose Arch, the venue naturally lend itself to awesome networking in a relaxed and comfortable environment. With great food and coffee added to the mix and an inspirational guest speaker in Fab Moms life coach, Kamani Reddy, the morning was a great success. (Not tooting our own horn- that was the feedback we got.)
Kamani gave our attendants great time management tips for both personal and professional use and guaranteed that implementing her strategies would save up to two hours in any busy moms’ day. A favourite of mine was definitely ‘not chopping your own veggies’.
Kamani had the audience in stitches as she relayed her story of insisting at each monthly shop that the ladies at Fruit & Veg chop her veg. This she says saves her plenty of cooking time in the afternoon and gives her more time with her kids.
A special thanks to the lovely people at Glossy Box and Petit Box, as well as Dettol and Media 24 for their contribution to our beautiful goodie bags.

A former hard news journalist, Jessica traded writing headlines and chasing deadlines for poop shoveling midnight bottle runs…finding them both far more riveting than hounding scandalous politicians, she did what any reporter would do and wrote about it. A busy mom of five- one human baby, three digital ones and a weekly radio show, she finds little time for herself, but when this rare me-time does roll around, there is nothing more therapeutic than putting on her boxing gloves and blowing off steam, MMA style! She love the rain. She eats too much chocolate and drink too much tea. A perfect day is eating chocolate and drinking tea in the rain! She blogs at: Cape Town Mommylogues and Hurricane Hamza and tweets at: JessMouneimne.
