FamFest is Back for Summer!

That’s right. The exciting festival for the family is happening again this coming Saturday! The Mommy Matters team attended the first every Famfest earlier this year, which you can read all about HERE, but if you missed it or enjoyed it as much as we did and can’t wait for the next one – you better clear your schedules, because this year it kick-starts the holiday season with two days of family fun on Saturday November 30 from 10am – 9pm and Sunday December 1 from 10am – 6pm. The 100% family-friendly festival takes place at the Constantia Sports Complex again.

There are some exciting additions to the now two-day long festival. Sporting achievement and personal development group ‘Sporting Chance’ will be hosting free coaching programs for children whilst JellyBean Events does on stage dance routines with the kids and music development program DRUMKiDZ take everyone through a Djembe Drumming musical journey.

In addition to that, the UPliftment Programme’s Care Clowns, stilt walkers and face painters will be making their way through the crowds throughout FamFest. In a special appearance, the well-known MAfrika will be seen on the Saturday and Sunday – getting families laughing and learning in her highly interactive edu-tainment shows.

Not forgetting the adults, FamFest will now host guest speakers over the weekend. Nutritional Therapist and kid’s health specialist Hannah Kaye is the first FamFest guest speaker to be announced and will be talking ‘Mood Foods for Kids’ on the Saturday. The second stage at FamFest will also see some great live performances from the likes of by K, Ray and the Bird, The Rob Thompson Trio and The Cape Doctors. Also making an appearance will be Rocktober headliners The Rockerfellas, and recent headline act at The Wacky Wine Festival: Me and Mr Brown.

FamFest is about simplicity and in the spirit of keeping things hassle free: there will now be ATM’s and card-machine facilities on site.  Tickets for FamFest are now available for purchase from Quicket  or at the gate on the day. There will be free entry for children under 2 years and ALL entertainment will be included in the ticket price.

  1. With school holidays just around the corner this will be the ideal opportunity to spend some quality family time with our kids(aged 3 &5). My hubby & I are both working throughout the festive season so weekends are our only opportunity to spend some one on one time with our precious angels.

  2. I wanna take my almost two year old and his big sister of nine on a day to remember…and im sure by the looks of it this is the place to be this weekend

  3. My husband and I have been cooped up at home for the last 10 weeks since our baby boy’s birth on the 11th of Sep. We don’t mind being cooped up at home seeing that our son is such a blkessing, but phew, I am beginning to climb the walls! Lol 😛 Shame, our 5-year-old daughter has had to keep herself entertained, playing Barbie in her room when she’s not at school. This event sounds like a wonderful family day out! Just the ‘outing’ we need! Please choose me as the winner so I can spoil my lovely family this weekend! I will express enough milk to take with so my son will have his milk and I just know my daughter will be very excited to go out and play over a weekend! 😉 Seriously holding thumbs here!!!! Thank you so much :)

  4. My daughter (4) Maia is expecting a little sister in Feb ’14 and this would be a great even to have a ‘me me me’ day before she has to share all her toys, attention, and love (not that she will mind too much).
