Do I look like a bag lady?

bag-lady

I have decided that Murphy is a little bugger! Please let me know if this has ever happened to you?…

You rush into the shops to get milk, bread and something miscellaneous and think that because it is early/late in the day that no one will see you. As you race through the aisle to find what you need and get out, you run into someone that used to work with you/you had a crush on in high school/you knew in high school/ the “perfect” mommy or worse yet, one of your ex’s. You gush all the usual small talk nonsense and leave with a “we should get in touch or have a cup of coffee sometime” when you know this will never happen.

As you go towards your car, you catch a reflection of yourself in a shop window and nearly jump 5 feet at the woman staring back at you. It takes you a few seconds to recognise that it is you! Your hair is greasy or /and looks messy, you have some food form on your shirt or pants, you have no makeup on and notice that you actually forgot to take it off last night and so instead of smokey eyes you are now sporting the racoon look. This is also the moment that you realise that the sweatpants that you are wearing actually are not flattering at all and the baggy shirt makes you look like Professor Nutty.

Yes this is what happens more regularly to a mom and if you are a stay at home mom and think this only happens to you, you are mistaken, we working moms have the same, some of us just do it in stilettos or high heels. And best of all when you look like a million dollars, not one person you shall see! Last week, I needed a haircut, it was not poker face but polka dot face and to be honest, I needed some loving and for 6 days out of the 7 I saw someone that I used to go to school with or one of those mentioned above. After a haircut and my face back to normal, I have yet to see a single person that I know! But Murphy is waiting for that right moment, all I have to do is rush outside quickly looking like a bag lady and he will be there to say hi and make sure that I see someone that I know.
Has this happened to you?

What happens if you throw polka dots, cappuccinos, books or a kindle, a toddler who is super clever and prone to allergies and talks as much as her mama, a sweetie pie of a husband, a crazy crafty side and a frugal side of note, a mom trying to wrap her head around Motherhood and a lack of sleep and a people’s person who has a thing for cute egg timers and owls? Well me of course! I’m getting through all the insane and crazy bits of life, one step at a time!
